FANS HAVE THE CHANCE TO JOIN KEANU REEVES AND CARRIE-ANNE MOSS WHEN THEY RETURN TO THE SOURCE AT THE CANADIAN PREMIERE OF “THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS”
Canadians can ‘fall down the rabbit hole’ and enter to win a trip to the premiere by scanning mysterious QR codes in major cities across the country.
TORONTO, ON – November 29, 2021 – Warner Bros. Pictures Canada announced today that the Canadian stars of “The Matrix Resurrections” – Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss – will touchdown in Toronto to attend the country’s premiere of the film on December 16. Fans across Canada can enter to win the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be the first in the country to see the new movie at Cineplex’s Scotiabank Theatre Toronto when Neo (Reeves) and Trinity (Moss) Come Home.
The Neo and Trinity Come Home contest encourages fans to locate and scan film-branded QR codes in their city, which will lead them to an exclusive message from the cast of “The Matrix Resurrections,” who will inform the user that they’ve found a “rabbit hole” and can now enter to win a trip to the premiere. The QR codes can be found at local businesses in major cities across the country, including Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, and Winnipeg (detailed list of participating businesses can be found below). Participating businesses will offer special film-themed items and experiences between now and the release of “The Matrix Resurrections” on December 22.
Select fans may be fortunate enough to spot the QR codes dominating the walls of buildings in downtown Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, and Calgary via digital projections. “The Matrix Resurrections” QR codes will also appear in GameStop Canada locations from coast-to-coast.
From November 26 to December 5, the contest will be open for Canadians to enter to win two flights, accommodation, and tickets to the premiere. In total, there will be seven contest winners outside the Greater Toronto Area (one from each of the above-mentioned cities) that will win a trip to the premiere and 25 winners closer to Toronto that will each receive a pair of tickets to the exclusive event. Once the first contest has closed on December 5, fans across the country are still able to scan the QR codes until December 20 and enter to win passes to see “The Matrix Resurrections” in IMAX at participating Cineplex locations when the film debuts on the 22nd.
“Neo and Trinity Come Home” is hosted by Warner Bros. Pictures Canada in partnership with Cineplex, Audi Canada, IMAX, and the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.

From visionary filmmaker Lana Wachowski comes “The Matrix Resurrections,” the newest film in the groundbreaking franchise that redefined a genre, which reunites original stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss in the iconic roles they made famous, Neo and Trinity.
The film also stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (“Candyman,” the “Aquaman” franchise) Jessica Henwick (TV’s “Iron Fist,” “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens”), Jonathan Groff (“Hamilton,” TV’s “Mindhunter”), Neil Patrick Harris (“Gone Girl”), Priyanka Chopra Jonas (TV’s “Quantico,”), Christina Ricci (TV’s “Escaping the Madhouse: The Nellie Bly Story,” “The Lizzie Borden Chronicles”), Telma Hopkins (TV’s “Dead to Me,”), Eréndira Ibarra (series “Sense8,” “Ingobernable”), Toby Onwumere (TV’s “Empire”), Max Riemelt (series “Sense8”), Brian J. Smith (series “Sense8,” “Treadstone”), and Jada Pinkett Smith (“Angel Has Fallen,” TV’s “Gotham”).
Lana Wachowski directed from a screenplay by Wachowski & David Mitchell & Aleksander Hemon, based on characters created by The Wachowskis. The film was produced by James McTeigue, Lana Wachowski and Grant Hill. The executive producers were Garrett Grant, Terry Needham, Michael Salven, Karin Wachowski, Jesse Ehrman and Bruce Berman.
Wachowski’s creative team behind the scenes included “Sense8” collaborators: directors of photography Daniele Massaccesi and John Toll, production designers Hugh Bateup and Peter Walpole, editor Joseph Jett Sally, costume designer Lindsay Pugh, visual effects supervisor Dan Glass, and composers Johnny Klimek and Tom Tykwer.
